Last "Solo Flight"

Over the last few weeks, Little Mr. Farwell has been preparing for the arrival of his little sister.  A long promised trip to pick apples, an afternoon at the Children's Museum with mom, and lots of special time with Dad (while mom put up some very swollen feet).  Here are some pictures of Little Mr. Farwell's final weeks flying solo (in no particular order).

Birthday party at the B family's house, where they have fabulous costumes....
Including this mermaid dress and witch's hat.
Touch a Truck day with the Gerbers!
Morning silliness--shirts as pants, soft fleece gloves ready to go.
Birthday party for Little Mr. Farwell's baby doll--she is very loved.
First trip to the Children's Museum with mom, the afternoon before Little Sister's arrival.
Aye matey!
Practicing bouncing the baby on the yoga ball
Apple picking at Shelburne Farm.  Back in the spring we explained to Little Mr. Farwell that his little sister would come after we went apple picking (which seemed so far off).  So off we went to pick apples (Cortlands and McIntoshs), drive John Deere tractors, bounce in the bouncy house and devour apple cider donuts.

How he's grown....
For comparison's sake--here they are apple picking two years ago in Nova Scotia.

An apple the size of his face--wow!

We love Brewster!

We spent the first week of August on Cape Cod and are ready to book our trip for next year!

The week started with a rainy, but wonderful, overnight with dear friends...

Some roller skating in the basement,
And the discovery of three sharks, or are they shark snacks, at the Cape Cod Natural History Museum.
The rain stopped and the beach fun began!

The Paparazzi was held at bay.

Fishing trip in Harwichport with Dad

Sandcastle making with Mom

High tide.
We love this guy.

Summertime!

Little Mr. Farwell had a busy start to summer--New Hampshire for a weekend of family camp with our church, swim lessons on Fridays at the neighborhood pool, back to New Hampshire for our first Storyland trip, and lots of fun around town...

The official St. Paul's bell ringer at Barbara C. Harris Family Camp weekend.  We were there 20 minutes early to make sure he got to ring the bell!
Getting ready to go canoeing at family camp.  He's a born camper!
Swim lessons at the neighborhood pool!

A little tennis with Dad!
Hiking up to Diana's Bath in North Conway

First trip to Storyland.  This kid loves amusement parks (even when its 90+ degrees)!
His self-declared favorite part--meeting the princess (aka Cinderella).

Second row from the front, first roller coaster...
Still smiling at the end (and wanted to go again).
Log flume awesomeness
Museum of Science with Dad
Dairy Queen happiness

Magic, Trains & Ducks

Little Mr. Farwell and Mom were lucky to have the company of Nana & Grandad while Dad had to travel for work.  Their visit was full of fun--a magic show at preschool, a "Day Out with Thomas the Train," and a reunion with Dad in the Boston Public Garden for Father's Day.  So much to celebrate!
